The short version
Everything below is written to be read, so please read it. But if you only read one box, read this one — it is an honest summary, not a substitute, and where the two disagree the sections below win.
- What you stream is yours. We don't look at it, sell it, or train anything on it.
- Recordings, chat messages and the names people joined with are deleted 7 days after the session, automatically.
- If you aren't recording, nothing of your screen or anybody's voice is stored anywhere.
- Anyone with your session link and its password can watch. Treat the link like a key.
- Quisnap is young, free, and offered as it is. Don't bet something irreplaceable on it.
1. Who you are agreeing with
Quisnap is the desktop app, the watch pages at quisnap.app and the relay behind them. It is operated by its author, reachable at hello@quisnap.app. In these terms, “we” means that operator and “you” means whoever is using Quisnap — as the person streaming a screen, or as somebody watching one.
By downloading the app, going live, or opening a session link, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't do those things.
2. Accounts
To stream a screen you sign in with your email address and a six-digit code we send you. There is no password to lose. We store the address, the codes while they are valid, and the sessions you created.
To watch a screen you need no account at all: a link, a password and a name you choose for yourself. That name is not checked against anything — it is how the host tells you apart from the others in the room, and nothing more.
Keep your address's inbox secure. Anybody who can read your email can sign in as you.
3. What you may and may not do
Use Quisnap for anything lawful. Specifically, don't use it to:
- share material you have no right to share, or that is illegal where you or your audience are;
- record or broadcast people who haven't been told it is happening, where the law where they are requires that they be told;
- harass, threaten or deceive anyone, including by pretending to be somebody else in a session;
- attack the service — guessing session links, flooding the relay, or working around the limits it sets;
- resell Quisnap, or run it as the streaming layer of your own product, without asking us first.
We don't monitor sessions, so these rules are enforced by report and by consequence rather than by watching. If we are told about something and it is clearly one of the above, we can end the session and the account.
4. What you stream stays yours
Your screen, your voice, your slides, the words on them and everything typed in your chat belong to you and the people who made them. Nothing here transfers any of that to us.
We take exactly one permission, and only for as long as we need it: the right to move that material through the relay to the people you invited, and — if you turned the replay on — to store it and give it back to whoever opens your link, until it is deleted. That permission ends when the material does.
We do not read, review, mine or train anything on what passes through Quisnap. The words on your screen are recognised by Windows on your own PC and travel as part of your stream; they are never sent somewhere else to be read.
5. The people you invite
When you stream a screen you decide who is in the room, and you are responsible for that room: for telling people what is being streamed and whether it is being recorded, for having any consent the law where they are requires, and for who you pass the link to.
A session link carries its own password. Anybody holding both can watch, can talk if you let them, and can open the replay. Forwarding the link is giving away a key — there is no second check behind it.
People watching can raise a hand, write in the chat and, if you allow it, speak. You can silence a voice, stop somebody writing, or close the chat to everyone, at any time, from your own window.
6. What Quisnap keeps
The whole list, and how long each thing lives:

The 7 days are enforced by a job that runs every hour, and by a rule on the storage itself that expires anything the job somehow missed. There is no archive behind it and no copy we keep for ourselves.
These pages carry no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels and no third-party cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is what a session needs to work while you are in it.
7. Your rights over that data
If you are in the UK, the EU or somewhere with similar law, you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@quisnap.app and we will answer within 30 days.
For your own sessions, deletion mostly takes care of itself: wait a week. If you want a replay gone sooner, ask and we will remove it. If you were in somebody else's session and want your messages or your name taken out before the week is up, write to us — we may need the host to confirm which session you mean, because a link and a first name are all we have to go on.
We rely on your agreement for the account, and on the legitimate interest of running a service people can actually use for the rest. You can withdraw the first by closing your account.
8. Where it all runs
The website, the session database and the recordings sit on Cloudflare. The relay that moves your stream between you and the people watching runs on one server in Paris. Sign-in codes are delivered by Resend. Those three are the only companies that handle anything on our behalf, and none of them is permitted to use it for anything of their own.
Cloudflare's storage and network are global, so data may be handled outside your country under the standard contractual clauses those providers operate. Your live stream itself takes the shortest path it can: to the Paris relay and out to your viewers.
9. The desktop app and updates
You get a personal, revocable licence to install and run the Quisnap app on machines you use. Don't decompile it, resell it, or ship it inside something else.
The app checks for updates and can install them. Each update is signed, and one whose signature doesn't match is refused rather than installed — which is the point of signing it. Updates may change or remove features.
The app captures the screens you pick and nothing else, and it reads the words on those screens locally, on your machine, using Windows' own text recognition.
10. Price, and what this is today
Quisnap is free while it is being built. There is no paid tier yet, no contract, and no minimum. If that changes we will say so here and in the app before anything is charged, and nothing you have already done will be charged for retroactively.
Free also means limits we can change without notice: how many people can watch at once, how long a session can run, how much can be recorded. We'll be reasonable, and we'll tell you if we aren't able to be.
11. No promises we can't keep
Quisnap is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. We don't promise it will be available, that a session won't drop, that a recording will be produced, or that the words read off your screen will be read correctly — text recovered from a picture gets things wrong, and an l can come back as a 1. That is why the app shows you what it read before anything is copied. Check it before you paste it somewhere that matters.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, a lesson that didn't record, or any indirect loss. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before — which, today, is nothing.
Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Ending it
Stop using Quisnap whenever you like; uninstalling the app is enough. Ask us to close your account and we will delete it, and with it the record of the sessions you created.
We can suspend or end an account that is breaking section 3, or being used in a way that threatens the service for everybody else. Where we can tell you why first, we will.
Sections 4, 7, 11 and 14 survive the end of everything else.
13. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the version and date at the top of this page change with them, and we'll say what moved. For anything that materially affects you we'll give notice in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using Quisnap after that is how you accept the new version; if you'd rather not, stop using it and ask us to close your account.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this doesn't take away the protections of the law where you live, or your right to bring a claim in your own country's courts.
Before anything formal, please write to us. Most things are a misunderstanding and take one email to fix.
